Last year, my parents gave us money to place some bets with, so we had fun and ended up winning $7 (placing $2 bets the whole day). This year, same deal, except Pat and I decided to get really into it. He bought a booklet that told us all about how the experts were rating each horse and predicting the outcomes of the races. Then, naturally (since he is a double major between accounting and finance), he mapped out a chart to keep track of our funds throughout the day. The funniest part is, after we went through all of this trouble, we ended up losing $7!! At least we broke even haha.
I wore a Lilly Pulitzer dress from two years ago and since it is no longer being carried, I linked similar ones here and here. I rocked a pair of DaLori Designs bracelets with my Michele Watch and a new bracelet that I recently snagged on sale from Henri Bendel (I really didn't need this bracelet, which is why I waited for it to go on sale 😉).
Also, a photographer from the race caught me while I was trying on hats and asked if I would pose for a few photos for his website called Fashion At The Races!
Overall, the day was a complete success. Although we lost money, we had so much fun and I don't think a thunderstorm could have even wiped the smiles off of our faces. Have any of you ever been to a horse race? And possibly have any tricks on winning our money back? Haha just kidding. Xoxo.
