The shade I ended up choosing is called Pink in Devotion by Yves Saint Laurent. I have always loves these lipsticks simply because they are eye candy, but I recently read such a great review of the product itself that I grew eager to try one out. And who knows?! Maybe if it's a hit this will be the start of a collection for me! Fingers crossed, Xoxo.
If you use any social media, then you know that yesterday was #NationalLipstickDay. My Instagram feed was FLOODED with photographs of every brand of lipstick in every shade, so of course, I began craving a new tube. Today after work, I swung by a Sephora at the mall (which is only 5 minutes from my office!!!) and swatched lipsticks for an entire hour! All by myself! I had so much fun because usually when I shop I'm with my mom and she's not a huge fan of cosmetics the way I am. By myself, I felt no rush and totally let myself just have fun! What's your favorite way to unwind from a long day? This definitely goes on my list!

^^This is how I feel when my Ringly goes off!Hello, there! I was particularly happy the day of these photos because I had made a tough decision and was thrilled with it. My favorite flowers had always been daffodils because I loved that they were the first sign of warm weather ahead after a long, cold winter, until earlier in the summer, my boyfriend, Patrick, brought me some pink roses from his mother's garden. I cared for these roses until the absolute last day they survived in my vase. They were beautiful! [See them here, captioned "Eau de Rochas, Roses, & Peonies"] So, on this day, I went out and decided to buy some more pink roses to see if I was indeed crazy about their beauty, or was just infatuated with the fact that my perfect boyfriend had brought me flowers (😍). When I got to the store, I couldn't decide which color so I bought six light pink stems and six fuchsia stems, and I have never been so happy with how a bouquet turned out! I know there isn't a whole lot going on, just roses, but it confirmed my theory that my favorite flowers had changed for good. I promise I still love you, though, daffodils!
I wanted to include an image of the lip colors I am wearing in these photos because I am always looking for the perfect pink and the shade I created here is a very unique vivid fuchsia. I covered a clean lip with Hot Pink Rage by Milani (this can be found in any drug store or at an Ulta Beauty store) and then I topped that fluorescent color with Buxom's Full-On Lip Cream in Berry Blast. This lip shine has a frost to is that smooths out any color and gives it a nice gloss making the color look more relaxed and natural. I love this combination for dressing up a simple outfit and making your lips stand out while still looking girly and playful. This lip is perfect for a daytime date, shopping, or an evening on the town. Dress it up or dress it down, but whatever you do, share your results with me using #SophieSaysBeautyFirst! Xoxo Some bloggers have a million designer handbags and lipsticks because they have been in and out of the working world or have a little extra money to spend and have been collecting for awhile. Unfortunately (oh, so, unfortunately) neither of those scenarios apply to me. I am a college student that spends my spare money on a manicure twice a semester before formals and on candles for my apartment. I am 20 and am simply too young to already hold a collection of $40 lipsticks to throw around my dresser and into my handbags. So what I am getting at is that receiving this Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick as a special little "just because" gift from my mom last week was a BIG deal. I felt so fancy testing swatches in the beauty department of Nordstrom and discussing shades with the more-than-stunning Chanel rep. that had a thick French accent. I knew I wanted a red that I could wear every day and I concluded on 444 Gabrielle. I hope everyone loves it as much as I do because you might as well get used to it before I wear it in every. single. fall photograph! Xoxo
Who else thoroughly believes in drinking a hot cup of tea before bed? 🙋🏽 I don't care whether I'm snuggled up watching a movie with my family or boyfriend, getting some last minute things done on my computer, having chit chat time with my mom and sisters around the coffee table, or all cozied up in bed with some fuzzy socks and a good book, the late evening will always be my time for tea. Drinking tea after dinner helps me unwind from a long day and soothes my soul. Lately, I have been liking Harney & Sons Fine Teas and Mighty Leaf Tea. Both are excellent with just a dash of Truvia. When my sister, Bella, was throwing away things from her last apartment, I snagged the Harney & Sons Fine Teas tin simply because I was crushing on how cute it was! "If I don't like the tea, at least I can decorate with this!" I thought. But, boy!, do I love it! This brand is available at Target, and look out for the pink/lavender tin, it's green tea with Thai flavors. Let me know if you love it or if there are any others I should try! Xoxo I hope everyone enjoyed breaking in their Lilly Agendas today! Today was my first day at my new internship, so I certainly did! Remember back when I had that interview I was preparing for? Well I guess I did pretty well 😊 The first day on the job is always a whirlwind but luckily everyone I met was incredibly nice and helpful, which sure did make me feel more confident about adding on a 3rd internship! Tackling three internships at one time will not be easy, by any means, but I have always been an over achiever and I love a good challenge 😉 So ladies, break out those agendas and get organizing! There's a lot of work to be done! Xoxo My favorite part about my Rainbow Moonstone Ringly is that is goes with absolutely everything I wear. Preppy, boho, normcore, city girl, minimalist, no matter what kind of trendy I'm feeling that day, my Ringly is ready to take my outfit to the next level. I like to think that my style is kind of eclectic, and never before have I found a piece that I can wear every single day. This trait is a great one for the Ringly to have, because I have come to depend on it as much as I depend on my iPhone, and I absolutely need it every single day. If you own a Ringly I want to hear your thoughts on it and show me how you #RockYourRingly! Xoxo
Today I am sharing my favorite bronzer with you and the secret that will make your man go crazy when he kisses your contoured cheeks! Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer looks, smells, and tastes like chocolate! I have medium to tan skin and in the summer this shade is perfect to dust over my whole face and work into the area right below my cheek bones to highlight my features. Although this bronzer is kind of pricey ringing up at $30 +tax, it is definitely worth it because when your skin goes pale in the winter you can contour away! I thought of adding a photograph of my face post-bronzed, but since I religiously wear this product every single day (even if it's all I'm wearing on my face) I figured you ladies already know what it looks like. So go to Ulta or Sephora or any other cosmetic store that carries Too Faced, bronze up, and forever make kisses on the cheek taste that much sweeter! Xoxo
I am living in an apartment for the first time ever this upcoming year at school and of course I am SUPER excited. I have been planning my decorations for so long and slowly building on them, but something that I could not get off my mind was a set of Mongolian Fur pillows. I have seen them in so many stores, but they were always too expensive for my college girl budget, in fact, the cheapest ones I found were on Amazon for $27 a piece, plus shipping. So last night I went to Target to pick up a few things and guess what they had? My Mongolian Fur pillows for $19.99!! I bought the last two, so if you're looking for them as well, buy now because they may be selling fast. And as an added bonus, I found sets of letter fridge magnets in the dollar section up front. You may think that's a weird thing to get excited over, but I've always liked this pin, and since I bought a new can of gold spray paint for another project last week, I figured I'd try it out! Let me know what you guys think, Xoxo.
This year my favorite summer shoes are from Target! There is something so satisfying about finding great things for low prices, and Target is my favorite place to do that. If you're a fan, I suggest you follow @TargetDoesItAgain or @TargetStyle on Instagram. They are constantly updating their feeds with the hit and trendy best sellers of the season and always let me know when it's time to go in and shop again. I bought these shoes at the beginning of the summer for $24.99 and they are still available in stores and online. They have a white platform on the bottom and chunky gold straps with buckles on the ankle, and although all of these details make them look fancy, they are more comfortable than flip flops! I have to be careful because they don't really go with a lot of my preppy clothes, but as long as I throw at least one other item on the edgier side into my outfit, I'm good to go.
