hello! today i am teaching a simple diy for those of you in need of inspiration. i bought a few composition notebooks for my early back-to-school preparation and decided that i should customize them. this is so easy, so here you go! you are going to need some notebooks, mod podge, an old paint brush, magazines, pictures, and anything of the sort [such as scrap-booking materials] that you would like to incorporate into your design. you are essentially decoupaging your notebooks. arrange your design first. when looking for pictures to use, look through a magazine and cut out patterns or anything colorful to use in the background so that you aren't overwhelmed with subject matter. you can either have one simple thing on the front and the notebooks natural background showing through, or you could make a collage and cover the entire front and back. after i have my design all laid out i start with the background articles first and usually i like to glue them down with the mod podge on their backs one by one. after everything is glued down i spread a layer of mod podge across the top. let it dry completely before you attempt to begin the back. voila! it's that easy! happy crafting!
