tgif! i thought i would share some [hidden] photos from my vacation that i took while snorkeling! i love snorkeling so much; just something about the feeling of being one with the ocean really makes me feel free. at first, i usually am a bit timid when i cannot see the bottom, but that soon fades and a admire the beauty all around me that a would not regularly be able to see. luckily, i had my handy dandy goggle cam with me on the trip and could capture the beauty to save! enjoy!
hello! i promised i would share my new bedroom one i finished, so here you go!
i took down everything i had hanging on my walls [which was quite a lot], filled of the wholes with putty, and painted the whole room white! it is a pretty big room and the task of cleaning my whole room, moving the furniture, preparing to paint, painting [i painted about three coats of white to cover up my hot pink], letting it dry, moving everything back, purging about half of my belongings, and cleaning my room while reorganizing it took me about one whole week of constant work. boy, was it worth it! just look at how spectacular it is now! i could not be happier with the results; i feel like a new person. wow! isn't it always wonderful when something turns out just the way you wanted it to?? i tried bleach tie dying a shirt and dip dying a sweat shirt the other day and they both turned out awesomely! here is a peak into my experiment [i'll share the ending products soon]!
all day i have been seeing beautiful details that have been driving me crazy. please just enjoy these pictures as i have been and have a happy wednesday:)
hello crafters! did anyone catch craft wars last night? well, it inspired me to spruce up my new white room [which i will be posting pictures of later] quite a bit. so, without further ado, the first simple-yet-beautiful diy! materials: two screw-in hooks, and a pole/stick/whatever you want to use [i used an elongating insert from a pair of shoes] to screw in the hooks, you may need to poke a hole with a push pin first because the hooks may be stubborn. other than that, you should be good! repeat the same step on the other side. place in the the pole/stick/whatever you decided to use. it's that simple! now dress it up a bit with your favorite jewelry:) [my boyfriend bought me this necklace from urban outfitters] happy decorating!
hello! today i am teaching a simple diy for those of you in need of inspiration. i bought a few composition notebooks for my early back-to-school preparation and decided that i should customize them. this is so easy, so here you go! you are going to need some notebooks, mod podge, an old paint brush, magazines, pictures, and anything of the sort [such as scrap-booking materials] that you would like to incorporate into your design. you are essentially decoupaging your notebooks. arrange your design first. when looking for pictures to use, look through a magazine and cut out patterns or anything colorful to use in the background so that you aren't overwhelmed with subject matter. you can either have one simple thing on the front and the notebooks natural background showing through, or you could make a collage and cover the entire front and back. after i have my design all laid out i start with the background articles first and usually i like to glue them down with the mod podge on their backs one by one. after everything is glued down i spread a layer of mod podge across the top. let it dry completely before you attempt to begin the back. voila! it's that easy! happy crafting!
happy weekend! isn't my puppy, sadie, so cute? top- forever 21
shorts- thrifted letter necklace- urban outfitters long necklace- forever 21 ballet flats- steve madden hair bow- homemade rings & earrings- various my ipad! today, i have chosen to blog about my partner in crime [my ipad]!! i always do all of my photo editing on my ipad so it is a must-have for me because of how productive it helps me be. i also am more productive with it because i usually like to type up blog posts right when they come to me and sort them all out after i have them written, and since I'm not always sitting at my computer [I'm not a freak] i like to type them up on my ipad. on the other hand, my ipad does often get in the way when it acts as my main source of distraction. sometimes [actually, almost always], when i should be doing something productive, i am on bloglovin, instagram, pinterest, or Facebook on my ipad. the list of fun apps i have on my ipad is always so appealing that usually i just cannot resist. i do admit that my ipad is always by my side, not only for these reasons, but because it also acts as my main source of music. i am constantly listening to tunes on either pandora or 8tracks. my current, favorite playlist is entitled 'laid back beach music' [of course] on pandora. needless to say again, my ipad is truly my partner in crime [its a love/hate relationship :)]. happy friday! image via google
