Here are some photographs from Celtic Fests in the past, past St. Patrick’s days, some recipes of my favorite authentic cuisine, and some tunes to move you along today. Enjoy!
It has now officially been two weeks since St. Patrick’s day, but guess what? I’m still celebrating. My family is very Irish and we celebrate our Celtic heritage all year around, but especially in September and March. It is obvious why we celebrate all of March, but why in September? We also celebrate in September because my family is from Eastern Pennsylvania of course! Every year, the town of Bethlehem throws an annual Celtic Festival celebrating the culture through live music, hot food, and rows on rows of booths selling everything from Celtic knot jewelry, to kilts, to airbrushed tattoos. Here are some photographs from Celtic Fests in the past, past St. Patrick’s days, some recipes of my favorite authentic cuisine, and some tunes to move you along today. Enjoy!

Hello there. Remember that space I was talking about before? Where I study by natural light? Well this is it. This is where I am. This is where I get everything done. I know it’s just a dorm, but I work with what I am given. I have a knack for collecting pink things. I have always loved pink, but I should have started budgeting how much I was accumulating a long time ago. Basically everything I own now is pink, monogrammed, or has letters on it. What can I say? I'm a girly girl! I am also a girl with a love for alternative music. I love listening to love songs on snowy days, and since every day here is a snowy one, here is Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg to put a smile on your face and that sweet warm feeling in your heart. Hoping you’re having a productive day! My mother has always told me that I am a nester. Since I have an eye for design I like to create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing. But my habits go further than that. I decorate my space, dress it up, keep it clean, and then spend a lot of time in it. Students here have all different kinds of study habits and a vast variety of study environments. This is mine. The natural light wakes me up, gets me focused, and keeps me going. This is me sharing my space with you. Every single day, I find myself listening to classical music while I study, enjoy.
These photographs were some quick snapshots that I took over winter break. I love pretty things, I love cozy things, and I certainly love candles. Winter break was a very relaxing time for me. I was able to unwind from my crazy first semester of Sophomore year at Syracuse, and just enjoy spending time with my people. My family is very close and being able to spend time with them is my favorite thing. Isabella and my Mom and Dad are all great cooks, so over the holidays we eat quite well. My entire family is very into healthy eating and portion control, so all of our meals are very fresh. The evenings are the best times. After we eat, we all settle into cushioned seats and couches, and lights some candles to make it feel cozy while it snows outside. Winter Winds by Mumford & Sons. A song that will always remind me of chilly Pennsylvania Winters.
An old post from February 8th, 2015...
Today in Syracuse, we have a high of 19*F and a constant snowfall. The snow is thick, but the weather is unwavering, no wind, just snow. I am listening to Classical music while I check off a number of things on my To Do list because it calms me down and keeps me focused. I also have my favorite scented candle lit, Noble Carnation by Royal Apothic. I received this candle as a gift in my Christmas stocking and then snagged the Hydrating Lotion in the same scent on sale at Anthropolgie because I loved it so much. The scent is sweet which relaxes me, definitely a candle that I will have to duplicate when I run out. My momma has been enjoying Royal Apothic candles for years now, and her favorite scent is Plains of Thistle, which you can no longer find at Anthropologie, so you have to purchase from the Royal Apothic site. I also received the new Tinties Lip Butter by the same brand in my stocking, simply because my momma and I both have a knack for collecting pretty things. I use the Pink shade…of course. |
