i made this cute purse out of a garland of Tibetan prayer flags that i bought at Disney's animal kingdom. although you may not have these exact flags, the same principles will apply to similar fabrics. materials you will need: two tibetan prayer flag garlands [or any kind of ethnic fabric], scissors, an array of embroidery threads, embroidery needle, another fabric of choice first, i had to cut the flags from the garland. because mine were already the same size, i only had to align them inside-out before i began to stitch around the outside. continue stitching on three sides. when you are done, flip back around to the outside. i decided to stitch a pocket on the outside of mine. cut three long, same-sized strips of fabric from your fabric of choice. stitch all three fabrics together at the edge. begin to braid all three fabrics together. when you are finished braiding, stitch the end closed to avoid unravelling. sew each side of the braid to its respective side on the inside of the bag where the two fabrics meet. you have just created a beautiful summer purse!
